Arm Lift - Before & After

Many people are extremely self-conscious about the appearance of their arms. Arm lift surgery (brachioplasty) is a common procedure to restore the youthful shape and appearance of the upper arms. As people age or gain weight, the skin and tissue on the upper arm can become flabby and loose. Because these conditions are often unresponsive to diet and exercise, arm lift surgery is often a perfect solution to reshape and beautify the upper arms.

The arm lift procedure is done by making an incision on the inner arm. Excess skin and fat (depending on the surgery) are removed and inner tissues are tightened. Many surgeries can be performed with the use of liposuction, virtually leaving patients without scarring. Sometimes scarring can be significant, depending on the arm lift procedure and patient. In these cases, scar treatment and/or revision has proven very effective in making scars more streamline and less noticeable.

Recovery after arm lift surgery can be as little as two weeks. However, recover time is largely determined by each procedure. Typically, swelling and discomfort subside after roughly one month.
